Our upcoming summit will explore the leadership challenges of managing the many business functions that drive technology initiatives forward in the enterprise. Please join us for sessions designed by technology leaders for technology leaders.

Our program includes a comprehensive look at the DevOps phenomenon-what IT leadership needs to know before embracing DevOps and how DevOps changes IT’s role within the broader enterprise. We’ll also learn how one local CIO has led a comprehensive digital transformation at his firm, doubling the size of his blue-chip company along the way. Lastly, we’ll receive an executive update from a recognized global leader on the rapidly emerging world of Connected and Automated Vehicles.

Speaker Bios

DevOps – Ben Gordon, PhD. Ben is the Vice President of Infrastructure Engineering and Operations at Molina Healthcare. In this role, Ben leads the engineering and operations departments that manage the architecture, design and day-to-day management of the company’s datacenter technology platforms. Ben has extensive experience in developing modern infrastructure and application architectures, driving operational efficiency and teaming with business and technology leaders to deliver innovative solutions that enhance productivity and time-to-market strategies.

Prior to joining Molina, Ben worked for Forsythe Technologies as their Field CTO working with fortune 500 companies on technology strategy and architecture. He has also served as the CTO at 3RP as well as the Vice President of Engineering at the Apollo Education Group, the parent for University of Phoenix. Ben holds a doctorate in Chemistry from the University of Florida and an American Chemical Society certified bachelors of science from Northern Arizona University.

DevOps – Susan Malinski. Susan is the Senior Director of Enterprise Development Services (EDS) for First American Title. In this role, she has responsibility for the strategy and operations of DevOps, Integration Services and Application Performance Management areas.

Susan has over 25 years of experience in creating new organizations and capabilities to deliver transformative change in IT for measurable business outcomes. At First American, Susan created the DevOps and Integration Services groups as part of an overall strategy to modernize traditional IT functions and deliver scalable, efficient and innovative services for IT groups throughout the company. Susan is now developing the strategic roadmap to position EDS services within a cloud agnostic IT model as First American evolves into a cloud centric organization.

Prior to her current position, Susan led numerous large scale application development and support engagements with global teams for clients such as WellPoint, McKesson, HEB and others.

Digital Transformation – Brian Ackermann. Brian is Chief Information Officer at Korn Ferry. He is responsible both for the corporate enterprise as well as client facing technology teams. He oversees Korn Ferry’s global systems, infrastructure, information security and business intelligence capabilities. He is also responsible for exploring new and emerging technologies that will serve as the platform of the future for Korn Ferry and the services provided to clients.

Brian was previously the CIO of Adecco, North America. Prior to Adecco, Bryan was at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP for 16 years, where he held multiple senior level roles. As a Partner he led the Americas IT Architecture and Infrastructure practice, working with clients in the consumer and industrial products industries.

Brian also served as Director for IBM’s Center for Business Optimization offering and has considerable experience as an IT consultant with significant expertise in the management of large global systems implementations. Brian has a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Michigan State University and completed executive education programs at Harvard Business School and INSEAD in France.

Connected & Automated Vehicles – Dr. Peter Sweatman, Ph.D. Peter is a cofounding Principal of CAVita and has over 30 years of experience in transportation research and innovation, and the application of R&D. That experience encompasses vehicles, drivers, and infrastructure and impinges on technology, policy, and strategic planning. He is a trusted national voice on safety, ITS, transportation research and education, connected and automated vehicles, and freight technology and policy. His professional experience covers private industry, academia, and government. He has worked extensively in Europe and Asia-Pacific as well as the United States.

Peter is a past chairman of the board of ITS America, and also served as founding chair of the ITS America Leadership Circle. He served on the U.S. Department of Transport’s ITS Advisory Committee, as well as a number of roles with the Society of Automotive Engineers. At Transportation Research Board, he chaired the recent EU-US Symposium Towards Road Transport Automation, and served on the Committee on National Research Frameworks: Application to Transportation. He is currently working with the industrial consortium Together for Safer Roads.

Peter served as Director of the University of Michigan Transportation Research Institute (UMTRI) from 2004 to 2015, and founded the Michigan Mobility Transformation Center (MTC) in 2013. He currently serves as director of the MTC, and was responsible for the launch of Mcity on July 20, 2015: “the world’s coolest test facility” (Bloomberg). He also serves as executive advisor to the UM’s Data Science Initiative. Peter holds a degree in mechanical engineering and a Ph.D. from the University of Melbourne.
