Hello ladies,

As you are aware, SIM Women is a network inside the SIM association that promotes mentorship, communication and career development amongst the female members of SIM.  It is a pleasure to invite you to SIM Women’s October webinar on Wednesday, October 28th at 3pm ET. Those who RSVP that they can attend will receive the webinar access information a day prior to the event.

Our October webinar will be “The Politics of Promotion” facilitated by Bonnie Marcus, M.Ed. who is an executive coach and author of The Politics of Promotion: How High Achieving Women Get Ahead and Stay Ahead (Wiley, March 2015) and she spoke at SIM Women’s Executive Leadership Forum in June.  Bonnie is an award winning entrepreneur, Forbes and Business Insider contributing writer who has real conversations for real women about real situations in the workplace today.

The workplace is a highly political environment where key decisions about who gets ahead, who gets the plum assignments, and who gets access to scarce resources are not decided solely on merit.  It takes promotion and political savvy to successfully navigate the workplace and influence the decision making process.

In this webinar, Bonnie addresses:

The importance of being politically savvy to get ahead and stay ahead.

How to use promotion as a political skill for access to informal networks, information, and opportunities.

How to build and nurture a power network to support career ambition.

The importance of understanding the rules, power, and culture of the organization.

As the President of Women’s Success Coaching, Bonnie assists professional women to successfully navigate the workplace and position and promote themselves to advance their careers. Her new book, The Politics of Promotion: How High Achieving Women Get Ahead and Stay Ahead (Wiley, March 2015), offers women a proven process to get the promotions they deserve.  This is sure to be a dynamic and highly informative webinar!!!  RSVP via the link above!

Don’t forget:  SIM Women is having a networking breakfast at SIMposium!  Reconnect with friends or meet new faces at our breakfast.  You’ll be able to continue your networking for the balance of the conference!  We will be in conference room Carolina A between 7am-8am on Monday November 2nd!

"Women helping Women" is a long-standing concept. To all our members, as always, I hope you continue to participate in and personally benefit from SIM Women. We can't do it without you!

Thank you,

Kristen Lamoreaux
