A Journey to the Future of Healthcare--The Davies Award    

Electronic health records have been revolutionizing the medical industry over the past several years.

Please join us as Dr. David Milov, Chief Medical Information Officer at Nemours, talks about his work to win the most prestigious honor in healthcare informatics, the Davies Award.    

Dr. Milov will also talk about his success in making Nemours one of the most technologically advanced health systems in the country including a virtually paperless environment, computerized physician order entry that is greater than 90%, e-prescribing, and 100% use of the electronic health record among all of its physicians.

Chief Medical Information Officer

David Milov, MD, has been Chief Medical Information Officer at Nemours since 2006. He has operational responsibility for the Nemours EMR system leading a team of 60 in the implementation, optimization and integration of EMR systems. In 2010 Nemours was named winner of the prestigious Davies award for its outstanding enterprise EMR system. Dr. Milov serves on several national HIT committees.  He is co-founder of ImproveCareNow, a national model Improvement Collaborative comprised of 30 centers focused on Pediatric Inflammatory Bowel Disease. In addition, he has served as a consultant to Institute of Medicine, Kaiser Permanente and the Institute for Healthcare Improvement on Clinical Decision Support and EMR issues.  He has been awarded 3 Federal grants (AHRQ) since 2009 for:  Clinical decision support; the development of pediatric quality measures and; using the EMR to directly populate external disease registries.  Dr. Milov holds a BS in microbiology from the University of Florida and an MD from Centro de Estudious Technicos in the Dominican Republic. He completed his Pediatric residency, Chief Residency and Gastroenterology Fellowship residency at the University of Florida. He completed a Biomedical Informatics Masters Certificate program at Stanford University in 2006.  As voted on by physician peers, he is listed in America’s Best Doctors since 1998.
