Master Series for Senior IT Leadership

New Senior IT leaders and those aspiring to be one, face the significant challenge of finding the knowledge and guidance regarding the IT Leadership role, skills and successful survival strategies.

There are limited sources for this knowledge and mentorship inside the company. When you are faced with situations you have not encountered before where can you turn for frank discussions and advice to address the situation in a safe and non-judgmental environment?

This has been an on-going challenge since the first introduction of computer technology into the workplace. To address this need for the current generations and those to come, SIM Minnesota has tapped into the collective knowledge of current members, past members, and recognized practicing industry professionals to develop an educational and mentoring program called, “Master Series for IT Leadership”.

The Master Series consists of 10 structured mentoring sessions that are focused on the top subjects that SIM membership has identified as key to the success of Sr. IT Leadership. These are not topics that you will find in the typical MBA course material. They represent the topics that practitioners face everyday.

Session Topics

Influence and Support

Understanding Politics at the Top

Selling the Strategic Plan

Building a Support Network

Business Drivers

Understanding IT roles

Achieving balance in the CIO position

As part of The Master Series and a member of SIM-Minnesota Chapter, you will explore each of these topics with your cohort group of participants and mentors selected for their knowledge, experience and passion for the topic. Participants and mentors will share their experiences with the challenges, successful solutions, and failures that surround the topics. You will gain invaluable knowledge of practical solutions to the real life problems faced by Senior IT Leaders.
