Practitioners Roundtable, January 14, 2016

Greetings, Boston SIM Members,

Topic: Application Integration in the API Economy

Many organizations have implemented a SOA or Middleware layer and are now working on an API strategy.  As mobile applications become ever more critical, a solid SOA layer and API architecture is a key success component. As SaaS solutions become more prevalent and best-of-breed comes back in fashion, a solid integration layer is essential for keeping data secure and reducing implementation complexity, time to market, and cost. Where are you on your SOA and API journey?

Madhavan Munisamy and Eric Esiason from Citizens Financial Group will facilitate a discussion about Application Integration trends, challenges, and best practices. You will have the opportunity to learn from other SIM practitioners and draw on Madhavan and Eric’s experiences and expertise.  Bring your questions, your successes, and your frustrations.

Madhavan has more than 20 year of IT experience mostly in the banking and utility sectors with roles including systems engineering, ERP applications, and integration solutions. At Citizens he is responsible for plan, build and run aspects of critical integration services (SOA) used by all consumer applications in the bank. Prior to this role he was at NGRID focusing on the ERP and EAI practice.

Eric has more than 20 years of IT experience in the restaurant and retail sectors with leadership roles ranging from store systems to application development. Prior to his current role on the Middleware Leadership Team at Citizens, he led the implementation of the integration layer and introduction of SOA concepts at BJ’s Wholesale Club.
