Boston SIM October Monthly Meeting

Boston SIM will be at the Newton Marriott Hotel on Thursday, October 16th from 5:30 PM – 8:00 PM for our monthly meeting which features speaker Sean Sweeney, Managing Director, Client Delivery Team, ClearEdge Partners, Inc. who will provide insight for negotiating with strategic partners.

Session Title:  Negotiating with Strategic Partners 

When negotiating with their most strategic suppliers, buyers are often left contemplating the same common questions: How do I know if I’m getting a good deal? When do I know it’s time to stop asking for more? How do I push back on my most strategic suppliers without hurting these critical relationships?

This session, led by ClearEdge Partners Managing Director, Client Delivery Team, Sean Sweeney, answers these three questions and more by exploring how suppliers have built their complex sales systems, understanding the key factors that determine price, discussing how to manage internal and external conflict in order to maintain leverage, and ultimately set up a winning negotiation strategy with your most strategic suppliers by taking a proactive approach to dealing with incumbency.

Attendees will learn:

  • How to create and maintain leverage across the deal life cycle
  • The 5 questions your team needs to ask to determine if you’re ready to negotiate with your strategic suppliers
  • How to win the negotiation across all 4 stages of the sales process

 Biography:

Sean Sweeney, Managing Director, Client Delivery Team, ClearEdge Partners, Inc.

Sean leads client delivery at ClearEdge. Prior to ClearEdge, Sean held various roles as an analyst at Forrester Research and focused on consulting and system integration firms. He helped Sourcing & Vendor management  executives connect with peers in various industries and geographies, and focused on new Forrester products and services - analyzing the viability of new product development, market sizing, commercial opportunity, and launch. Prior to Forrester, Sean was a manager at Accenture and worked with various global firms spanning different industries. He is a graduate of Boston College.
