As impersonation fraud continues to escalate, it is clear that strong user authentication systems are mandatory to protect both consumers and business alike. Today’s electronic thieves are well organized, technically knowledgeable, and financially motivated and continue to exploit the shortcomings of existing technology with ever increasing success and sophistication. To make matters worse, the proliferation and large scale adoption of new wireless technologies, such as mobile banking and WiFi, allow thieves to easily attack and seemingly disappear into thin air. This session will not only provide an overview and definition of the threats that exist today for both business and personal assets, but it will also point out the ways that you can minimize your exposure to such threats. Industry data will be reviewed showing the trends of toda’s thieves and the challenges that businesses face in the new wireless world. The session will also drill down on what motivates today’s thieves and makes you vulnerable, the value of your stolen assets, and what is the cost of doing nothing.
