Topic: Future technology trends, primarily the "super trends” of converged computing
Staying a step ahead of technology and client requests isn't easy. Arm yourself by understanding some of the most important technology directions occurring in the technology and financial services industries. Karl Gouverneur, Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at Northwestern Mutual’s Information Systems Department, will join us to discuss future technology trends, primarily the "super trends” of converged computing. Converged computing is the combined power of analytics, cloud, mobile and social media. Other trends such as 3-D printing, user interfaces and the future of the Internet will be highlighted
Biography:

Karl G. Gouverneur Karl Gouverneur (pronounced "Governor”) is the Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at Northwestern Mutual’s Information Systems Department. Prior to joining NM, Karl was the CTO at Seattle-based Safeco Insurance and Chicago-based CNA Financial focusing on IT/Business integration, business and IT strategy and Enterprise Architecture.
Prior to being a CTO, Karl was an entrepreneur having founded his own firm in 1997 focused on ERP systems integration taking it from startup to an operation with sales of $100M, offices worldwide and over 200 clients. Early in his career he was a consultant for Ernst and Young’s systems integration practice where he was assigned to several Fortune 250 clients and he played many roles in projects doing software development, package integration, and infrastructure services.
Gouverneur is a graduate of the University of Florida, where he earned a B.S. degree in business administration – computer science. He is currently a member of the CIO Executive Council and Forrester Research’s CIO Leadership Board. In the Milwaukee community, Mr. Gouverneur serves on Marquette University’s Global Sourcing Advisory Board and is a member of the Board of Directors for the Milwaukee Urban League.
