2017 SIM IT Trends Personal Benchmark Reports Coming Soon!
European Data Collection Ending on September 30
Over the past two months, the SIM IT Trends Study research team has been working hard to extract meaningful insights from the 1,178 responses that were received. We are pleased to announce that personal benchmark reports will be sent out to all those that participated in the study by early October.  Each report will compare your individual responses to the aggregate of the entire sample so you can compare your organization’s IT characteristics to general trends observed around the country.

If you missed out on participating in this year’s study, no need to worry!  Next year’s SIM IT Trends Study Questionnaire will be released in April 2018 and you can complete it to receive a benchmark report next year.  Deeper analyses and discussion of the most important topics in IT will also appear in the Comprehensive Report, set to be released in December (free of charge to all SIM members).  The SIM IT Trends Study research team will also be presenting results of the study at SIM Connect Live in Dallas, TX in April 2018. Read more…

Advanced Practice Council Release Report on Predictive Analytics
IT governance has become an essential part of current IT organizations. Coordinated decision-making on allocations and practices based on corporate priorities are well-honed. But the proliferation of predictive analytics brings new challenges not covered by current IT governance arrangements. What happens when different parts of the organization embed different predictive models in systems that are uncoordinated? Risks, some of which bring unintended consequences to organizational reputations.

In this report, Michael Goul documents emerging good governance practices and presents an Analytics Capability Reference Model that does for predictive analytics what COBIT, ITIL, and CMMI did for processes, infrastructure, and capabilities.

You can download the report from the SIM online store.
