SIM Women
It is a pleasure to invite you to participate in SIM Women - a network inside the SIM association to promote communication, mentorship and career development amongst the female members of SIM. In January 2007 we began a phased roll out of SIM Women starting with the New Jersey, NY Metro and Fairfield-Westchester chapters, and in April added the ladies of Philadelphia to our ranks. In February 2008, we asked the ladies of Boston to join us, followed by the women of the Central Connecticut and Capital Area chapters in May 2008. August 2008 SIM Women once again expanded its reach into Toronto and North Carolina, with Memphis, Central and South Florida joining in September. Atlanta and Alabama joined in October, and we added Wisconsin, Minnesota, St. Louis, and Northeast Ohio in December. Janauary 2009 had the ladies of Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth, and Indianapolis joining our ranks! February we opened up to the ladies in Chicago and Detroit is welcome in March! We added chapters every month through the summer of 2009 when we went NATIONAL! As of today, there are over 200 SIM members active in SIM Women. We also have over 80 members in our SIM Women Linkedin Group!

To date we’ve held conference calls the last Wednesday of the month and multiple successful networking events. It is the intention of SIM Women to hold quarterly face-to-face events. We have been rotating the location of these events, in an effort for each member to have at least one meeting in their backyard!

SIM Women is a women-based vertical inside the SIM organization, but it is meant to be inclusive, not divisive. All SIM members can share knowledge, request help or brainstorm on issues important to them via our discussion board. Success stories can be shared by all involved. We are not looking to form a separate organization, but to bring together the men and women of SIM to leverage our common interests as well as our differences.

"Women Helping Women” is a long-standing concept. I hope you will participate in and benefit from SIM Women. We can’t do it without you!
