Welcome to SIM San Diego!
It is official! We are excited to announce the start of a new Society for Information Management (SIM) Chapter in San Diego! Since 1968, SIM has inspired the minds of the most prestigious IT leaders in the industry. Highly regarded as the premier national network for IT leadership, SIM is a community of thought leaders who share experiences and rich intellectual capital, and who explore future IT direction for the benefit of its members and their communities.
To be recognized as an exemplary Information Technology organization that enriches the personal and professional growth of its members and affiliates, and enhances the brand of, and contributions to, its IT community.
SIM San Diego is an association of the IT community at large, including senior IT executives, prominent academicians, and other IT thought leaders, who share and enhance their industry knowledge for the benefits of its members and their organizations, who build industry brand awareness and contribute to the growth of the IT community to attract and retain top talent in San Diego.
I joined SIM in 1987 as a founding member of the Detroit Chapter. I remember questioning whether to allocate my limited time to an organization that was not healthcare specific. It turned out to be one of the best decisions that I made early in my career as a Healthcare CIO for Beaumont Hospitals. I gained tremendous experience moving through the SIM Officer Chairs from Program Chair to Chapter President and then becoming a member of the SIM International President's Council. Along the way I have established many lifelong relationships that were formed as a result of networking and collaboration opportunities that SIM provides. First and foremost, SIM Is a learning forum that provides access to some of the preeminent thought leaders from around the globe.
I am very excited to be here in San Diego and to have the opportunity to be active in SIM once again. I look forward to meeting all of you and making new friends.
