SIM Detroit currently has approximately 160 active members from 75 organizations. The member companies are generally located in the greater Detroit area, but some members are from the southwest side of the state and some are from the Toledo, OH area.
Members either lead the management-information management function in their organization or are leading the implementation of new solutions. Economic sectors represented include automotive and non-automotive manufacturing, finance, service businesses, healthcare, higher education and consulting.

SIM International / Enterprise Membership Programs
Dues are set by the SIM Detroit board and include both Detroit Chapter and SIM International membership.
SIM International also offers an Enterprise Membership Program. It establishes a unique partnership between the member organization, its senior information management executives, and SIM. Each Enterprise organization has one voting representative, plus four designees composed of senior staff members and other corporate executives. Enterprise membership also includes the value-added products and services described in the International Brochure, in addition to the benefits of SIM International Membership.

There are many advatages for individuals to join SIM.
- Networking: Detroit chapter meetings, conferences, roundtables and seminars
- Knowledge Sharing: Working Group deliverables, Advanced Practices Council (APC) research, Network Online, Webcasts and our online community, simnet.org
- Education: Access to the SIM Regional Learning Forum™, providing industry-specific training for future IT leaders
- Advocacy: The collaborative "voice” of SIM on issues such as the IT Workforce Capabilities Shortage and software licensing
- Industry Leadership: Access to peers who understand and manage similar challenges and issues
The Individual/For-Profit Membership
The Individual/For-Profit entitles individuals from for-profit organizations to receive SIM products and services. The cost for membership is $300.
The Academic/Non-Profit Enterprise Program
The Academic/Non-Profit Program entitles members from academia, government, and educational organizations to receive SIM products and services at a reduced rate. The cost is:
- 1 Individual $230
- 2 Individuals $460
- 3 Individuals $600
Additional members beyond 3 may be added for a reduced rate of $200/person
The Corporate Enterprise Program
The Corporate Enterprise Progrm entitles members from member organizations to receive SIM products and services. The cost is:
- 1 Individual $300
- 2 Individuals $600
- 3 Individuals $840
- 4 Individuals $1,120
- 5 Individuals $1,400
Additional members beyond 5, may be added for a reduced rate of $260/person
The Enterprise Advantage Program
The Enterprise Advantge program ncludes all SIM products and services for three to seven executives. The Enterprise Advantage program also includes one registration to Simposium 2007 (October 7-10, Memphis, TM) The cost is:

- 5 Individuals $2,500
Enterprise Platinum Program
The Enterprise Platinum Program includes al of the features of the Advantage package plus one participation fee for Regional Learning Forum (RLF) 2007 [ a 9 month program; $5,500 value] The cost is:

- 4 individuals $7,320
- 5 individuals $7,550

Individuals interested im membership in the Detroit chapter are required to join through local Detroit chapter and automatically become members of SIM International. SIM Chapters maintain their own membership criteria, which in some cases, are more restrictive than SIM International's requirements.
