Negotiations and Principles of Influence Negotiations are a critical element of IT governance.  Additionally, there are key principles of influence when negotiating with lines of business.  For IT to be successful as a business driver, broker and enabler, these negotiation and influence skills must be well understood and practiced. Join SIM AZ in welcoming Dave Kempson, former CIO of MIHS and current Director of Data Operations and Strategy at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona, as our speaker for our April 24th dinner meeting.  Dave is a long time SIM AZ chapter member and is a respected thought leader in the IT and healthcare industry.

Speaker:

David Kempson is a seasoned IT leader with over 20 years in technology and clinical transformation, innovation and education. Dave has held CIO level roles at AZ DEQ, Maricopa County and most recently as CIO for Maricopa Integrated Health Systems.  MIHS is the largest teaching hospital in Maricopa County, also providing $1billion+ of care annually. Dave also is involved in education as an adjunct faculty member for ASU's Department of Biomedical Informatics.  He also serves on the Board of Directors for Arizona Health-e Conection, a not-for-profit organization which is involved in Arizona's establishment of a health information exchange and adoption of health information technology. Dave is also a Colonel and Commander of the Arizona Air National Guard's 161st Medical Group. Dave, his wife, and two kids live in Awhatukee, Arizona.  They enjoy taking annual family trips around the country.
