With $18 billion in annual revenue -- and growth that's tripled over recent years -- Global Partners is no stranger to accelerating the pace of its enterprise technology, but that wasn't always the case.  Just four years ago leadership realized that it had reached a tipping point in its business where information technology needed to be managed much more strategically than it had been previously.  It was time for an information technology transformation.

Join Ken Piddington as he describes the information technology transformation journey that he lead for Global Partners.  He will discuss the business drivers, the IT transformation roadmap and key components of the IT transformation.

Speaker:  Ken Piddington, CIO, MRE Consulting

Ken Piddington is Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Executive Advisor at MRE Consulting.  Mr. Piddington is an experienced business leader and technology strategist with more than 15 years of transformation leadership experience gained as CIO and executive advisor for Fortune 500 companies in North America and Europe.  Mr. Piddington uses his extensive experience in people leadership, business operations and technology innovation to partner with CIOs, CXOs and their leadership teams to help them develop effective plans and strategies to achieve meaningful results in their respective businesses.

Mr. Piddington was the CIO at Global Partners LP, a Fortune 500 midstream logistics and energy products marketing company, where he was responsible for leading, developing and implementing the business technology strategy during four years of unprecedented growth where the company revenues grew from $6 billion to $20 billion.  This included the successful integration of multiple acquisitions and the implementation of supply chain technologies necessary to support dramatic geographic and line of business expansion.

His successful track record as a business leader and technology strategist includes serving as Partner at Lyland Associates, Inc. where he managed the business technology division of the company’s energy practice.  In this role he served as a technology advisor and led custom development and application implementation projects for its Fortune 500 clients.  This included leading the development and implementation of an internally built Energy Trading and Risk Management System (ETRM) for a client.  This followed his success as Director of Product Development at Triple Point Technologies for their flagship product Tempest XL.

Ken is recognized as an industry thought leader, is a regular speaker at business and association conferences, and has been featured in multiple media publications.  He has served on the Board of Trustees for the Sage School in Massachusetts and on the Leadership Board for the MIT CIO Leadership Institute.  He has also served as a mentor in the CIO Executive Council’s Pathways program.
