Our 2016-17 Chapter Board of Directors

President - Anthony Foust |

 Anthony Foust is the current Director of Enterprise Solutions Delivery for the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) in Durham. Prior to that,      he  served as the Director of Information Technology Operations at the AICPA. Anthony has held several IT leadership roles with Easter Seals    UCP  North Carolina & Virginia, Credit Suisse, Bob Barker Company and AICPA. Anthony has been involved with SIM-RTP since 2008. In    2012, he  was nominated for the Communications Chair role on the SIM-RTP Board of Directors to succeed Art McCann. 

 Anthony received his MBA from Elon University, MS in Information Technology from UNC Charlotte, BS in Information Technology from  DeVry  University, and BS in Psychology from Ohio State University. While attending graduate school at UNC Charlotte, Anthony led a team of  Information Security students in winning the National Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition in 2006. He continues to be active member of the STEM community here in the triangle his involvement with Wake Robotics and Junior LEGO league activities.


Program Chair - Zane Sosna |

 Zane has over 15 years of IT sales and account management and 13 year of leadership and business development experience within the              software development arena in Raleigh/Durham. He’s currently a Sr. Vice President for Robert Half Technology and his responsibilities              include managing a staff of 15 Account Managers and Recruiters as well as continuing to service existing clients. Services provided include IT    Staffing and Consulting solutions from a contract, contract to hire and direct placement standpoint as well as delivery based managed services.    Zane graduated from Elon University in 1995 with his BA degree in Psychology.






Program Chair - Michelle Peck |

Michelle Peck is a customer focused technology leader collaborating with business stakeholders and executives to accomplish strategic company initiatives through business process focused technology.  With over 20 years of experience, Michelle has led teams in enterprise strategy, application development, enterprise application/architecture implementation, and infrastructure management.  Currently as the head of IT for PowerSecure, Michelle is responsible for all aspects of technology for this growing entrepreneurial power systems, energy efficiency, and utility company. 

Michelle is an avid volunteer at multiple organizations across the Raleigh-Durham area and devotes her time to giving back to others. 

Michelle graduated from Virginia Tech with a B.S. in Computer Science and a B.S. in Psychology and also received her Masters of Business Administration at NC State.





Membership Chair – Wayne Rogers|

Wayne Rogers, President of VodaWize is a Raleigh native and graduated from UNC- Chapel Hill in 1981. Wayne has primarily been in technology sales since then.   Over the years he has seen changes that have brought on some WOW moments and others more gradual and progressive.  What used to be considered fast is REALLY slow by today's standards.

Wayne founded LongLeaf Communications (now VodaWize) in 2001 with the simple idea of bringing convenient service to customers.   His philosophy is to do everything in his power to make the customer experience positive and personal.

Previous experience includes:

Sales- US LEC (we opened their first remote office in Raleigh from the back of an RV)
Co-Founder, Board Member, VP Sales- P&R Environmental

Community Service includes:

A lifetime resident of Raleigh, NC, Wayne has been married for 32 years and has three children, the youngest of whom should graduate next spring and one very spoiled Cavalier King Charles Spaniel! Wayne enjoys Tennis, Insanity Workouts, Music, Reading, Tar Heel Sports, Golf (member Carolina Country Club, always looking for a game)

SIM-RTP represents a wonderful opportunity to spend more time and support a group of extremely bright and accomplished people.  I am in awe of many of you, and very glad most of you moved from far away and now call the Triangle home.


Finance Chair - Alvin Fortson |

 Alvin has been a SIM-RTP member since 2009. For the past 15 years, Alvin has been with the Pantry, Inc. as the Director of Enterprise                Application Systems. Before his tenure at the Pantry, he was the CIO / V.P. of Information Technology and Director of Development for              Enterprise Computer.  He has just started his own consulting company, Fortson & Associates, Retail specializing in IT strategy, business              alignment, and project management targeting on the Retail industry. He and his wife Lee Ann have two daughters Ann Bowdre and Elizabeth      Vail.  Alvin has a Bachelor of Science from Mercer University in Computer Science and has also served as a Board Member and Committee        Chair of the Petroleum Convenience Alliance for Technology Standards.




Communications Chair – Brent Wall |

 Brent Wall is an experienced IT leader with an extensive track record of conceptualizing and directing the development, delivery, and operation  of  advanced technology solutions. He is currently the Vice President and General Manager for DataChambers, a leading provider of mission  critical  IT infrastructure services.  Before joining DataChambers, Mr. Wall was Vice President of Hosting and Global Chief Information Officer  for  StraTech, a leading IT solutions provider based in Cary, NC. In this role, he led the company’s Data Center and Managed Services lines of  business to provide infrastructure services to hundreds of enterprise customers across the country. Prior to StraTech, Mr. Wall served as Vice  President of Information Systems and Services at GMAC Insurance, a $1B+ subsidiary of General Motors.
 Mr. Wall earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and an Associate in Applied  Science degree in Electronic Engineering from Forsyth Technical College.


Philanthropy Chair – John Rinehart|

With over 30 years of collective experience, John has worked with several technology companies that offer solutions ranging from progressive to disruptive. From his first professional role as a project engineer with the Department of the Navy testing new acoustical devices to track enemy submarines to his current position at Datalink that helps customers with data center transformations; John has embraced the idea that any success requires having a collaborative and engaged team. He has been involved with creating or expanding new teams inField Sales, Channel Development, Professional Services, Technical Help Desk, Engineering Management, and IT Field Operations.


John believes in giving back to the community through his time, talent, and treasure. Most recently, John has spent several semesters participating as a professional mentor for students pursuing their management degrees at NC State’s Poole College of Management. Through SIM, he and his two sons, Ryan and Ben, have volunteered their time at the Kramden Institute. John and his wife, Kathy, also volunteer in various local community events.


John graduated from NC State University with a BS in Electrical Engineering. He also graduated from the NC State Poole College of Management with a MS in Management. He is a registered PE in the State of NC.


Secretary – Michael Jensen |

Michael Jensen is an accomplished senior Information Technology leader with over twenty years of demonstrated success developing and executing operational strategies that promote growth and profitability.  He is a decisive leader skilled in business strategy development, information systems management, and systems design and implementation at Rho, a full-service contract research organization optimally sized to deliver results from clinical research with agility and adaptability based in Chapel Hill, NC. Prior to his contributions at Rho, Michael led the strategic planning initiatives and was responsible for efficient delivery of all technical services for the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health Biostatistics organization. His innovative implementation of technology was instrumental in developing a stable research environment that vastly improved end user productivity. Michael began his career in the Health and Life Sciences industry with LabCorp, where he managed progressive positions in management, programming, infrastructure support, and system administration.


Past President - Jim Baxley |

 Jim is a multi-decade veteran of the technical and financial services industries. At Square 1 since February of 2012, Jim leads the technology  teams as they provide solutions and outstanding customer service to the venture capital and start-up markets.  Prior to joining Square 1, Jim  spent 14 years at First Citizens Bank, where he provided leadership in technology, strategy, process, project, and financial management. His  most recent role combined many of these disciplines as he managed the $80+million budget for the Bank’s IT division.  A former board        member of SIM-RTP, Jim served as Treasurer and Finance Chair from 2009-2012. He was active in improving financial rigor and reporting      for the chapter, and assisted in updating the by-laws to reflect the evolving structure of the organization.  Prior to joining First Citizens, Jim  was a  professional graphic designer at an RTP design and marketing firm, where he led design, client management, and technology infrastructure.

Jim graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with his BA in Secondary Education in 1994. He and his family (wife Laura, sons Jay and Ben) are active in the Chapel Hill community.
