Alan Stanford Scholarships

To support future technology leaders, the Society for Information Management Indy Chapter awarded $2,000 Alan Stanford Scholarships to four students from the Purdue School of Engineering and Technology, IUPUI. The recipients received their awards on April 1st during the 43nd Annual Bepko Awards Ceremony Convocation at the Indiana Roof Ballroom.
 

Indiana Aspiration in Computing Awards

SIM Indianapolis is a proud sponsor of the annual NCWIT Aspirations in Computing Award. The NCWIT Indiana Award for Aspirations in Computing honors young women at the high-school level for their computing-related achievements and interests. Awardees are selected for their computing and IT aptitude, leadership ability, academic history, and plans for post-secondary education.
 


TYF4Y VEX Robotics

The Indy chapter was a silver level sponsor, providing $10,000 annually to the VEX Robotics program. The VEX Robotic initiative is a two-year, state-wide program focused on increasing STEM education in schools using school-sponsored robotics teams. The sponsorship enables schools to have access to robotics kits and participate in state-wide competitions.
 

First Lego League & VEX Robotics

SIM Indianapolis is sponsoring the Robotics Club at Northview Middle School in Washington Township. The Indy chapter is providing $2,000 to the club for the upcoming VEX Robotics competition season.
 

WinIT Women in Technology Summer Camp

The Indy chapter provided $3,250 for the 2017 WinIT Women in Technology summer camp held at IUPUI. For 2017, SIM Indianapolis is sponsoring another $3,250 to cover camp attendance and costs.
 

CoderDojo Indiana Hackathon

The Indy chapter provided $3,250 for the 2017 WinIT Women in Technology summer camp held at IUPUI. For 2017, SIM Indianapolis is sponsoring another $3,250 to cover camp attendance and costs. SIM Indianapolis sponsored $500 for TechPoint Foundation for Youth’s CoderDojo Indiana Hackathon initiative, which was for kids age 7-17. The event focused on activities and coding competitions to increase STEM awareness.
