APC Releases "Selecting Digital Data Stream Winners" Research Report
Given the many digital data streams created by firms and the variety of streams available for purchase, how can you determine which streams can lead to significant business value - even competitive advantage? "Selecting Digital Data Streams," a recent report by Advanced Practices Council researchers, answers this question. It then describes the capabilities needed so that firms can position themselves to identify opportunities to leverage future digital data streams. You can download this report from the SIM Online Store.

SIM Women National Executive Leadership Forum
The SIM Women National Executive Leadership Forum May 5th in Chicago is an executive-level event for CXOs, Senior Executives and Directors. At the forum you’ll experience an encouraging atmosphere for peer-to-peer networking and solutions to today’s business challenges. There are three tracks inside the conference:

Exemplify Leadership – We encourage our members to take action and serve as visible examples that future generations can emulate. Being a leader is a goal that, once achieved, needs to be reinforced and continuously fostered.

Empower – For those women who are working toward the C-Suite or leadership status, we’ve developed sessions with a focus solidifying business acumen, confidence, and communication.

Educate – It’s imperative to understand that though female leaders are gaining ground in some areas, thousands of women and girls are leaving STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) related careers in droves. Throughout our event we will share the impact a lack of STEM talent will have on all of us, in addition to sharing facts and key steps we can all take to make a difference.

While SIM Women is made up of CIOs and their direct reports, our programming has never been focused on technology, rather how to succeed as a leader in the technology field.

Executive Presence’ A Core Competency For 21stCentury Leaders
Building the ‘executive presence’ of today’s senior leaders is a major component of SIM’s 2016 Executive RLF program.

The days of senior leaders relying solely on their title and org chart position to earn respect and pave the way for promotion have yielded to a new reality. Today, the characteristics of ‘executive presence’ play an increasingly crucial role in how top leaders are perceived and measured – and considered for advancement. That’s why building ‘executive presence’ is a prime focus of SIM’s 2016 Executive RLF program, currently underway with 20 senior leader participants from across the nation.

“A strong, positive executive presence has become a core competency for leaders in order to better guide teams and the organization through today’s world of ever-accelerating change,” said strategic change consultant / executive coach Mary Jo Greil, one of the three 2016 Executive RLF facilitators. “And it begins with learning how to project an executive presence and influence that’s built on purpose, authentic expression and congruent action … from the inside out.” read more...
