Products are evolving into product systems. How can IT lead and support this evolution of product and service development for the “Internet of Everything”? This talk is intended to offer some quick practical recommendations on how we can begin to “Re-Think” infrastructure, organizations, and functional relationships to differentiate products and services, and improve productivity across the value chain. As you begin to challenge your team and business leaders to “Re-Think” how connectivity can change competitive dynamics, new opportunities will emerge – Let’s get started!

The world has never been more connected; as rapid adoption of connected mobile devices, sensors, and equipment continues, companies are having to re-evaluate their products, services, competitive strategies, and organizational dynamics to bring to market a smarter, and more connected product offering. David Riddle is helping to lead this evolution at Thermo Fisher Scientific. As Director of Information Technology for Thermo Scientific Portable Analytical Instruments, David has led the integration of information technologies into product development for projects including the TruDefender FTi, cited in the November 2014 Harvard Business Review Article “How Smart, Connected Products are transforming Competition”, the TruNarc, an Edison Bronze Medal and R&D 100 Award Winer, The MicroPHAZIR AG, and newly released Niton XL5 elemental analyzer. Prior to joining Thermo Fisher Scientific, David held senior leadership assignments at Ahura Scientific, Analog Devices, Corning Incorporated, and Raytheon Company, and earned a bachelor of liberal arts degree from Harvard University Extension School.
