Join SIM South Florida for our June 20th Meeting at Nova South Eastern University where special guest speaker Stuart Kippelman will be presenting- Innovate or Die: Creating a Culture of Innovation.

Innovate or Die:  The average lifespan of a company listed in the S&P 500 is now only 15 years.  Many companies still don't get it, and fail to keep up with change or innovation.  This change includes business needs, customer expectations and technology as nothing is immune.  While just keeping up with change is complicated, its not enough.  We must innovate, and balance the needs of all those involved to drive business forward and create a competitive advantage.  We will discuss the impact of change, technology trends and pitfalls, how to stay competitive., and ideas to ensure IT drives the business forward.

Stuart Kippelman is the Interim CIO for Biotest Pharmaceuticals, and leading the transformation to a digital business across all company areas.  Stuart has also recently joined the South Florida Board of Directors as one of our valued CIO Advisors.

Stuart previously served as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer for Platform Specialty Products, and Covanta Energy.  For his transformational work, Stuart has received numerous prestigious industry recognitions including Top 100 CIO's in STEM 2015, Computerworld’s 2014 Premier IT Leader Award and the Top 100 Award in 2012, 2013 and 2014.

Prior to joining Covanta, Stuart held many leadership and technical roles of increasing responsibility at Johnson & Johnson.  He was Corporate Director of Technology M&A and Emerging Market Growth, CIO/CTO of Health & Wellness, Vice President of Global Infrastructure Technology Engineering, and Development, as well as other roles in engineering, architecture, research, portfolio management, deployment and operations.

Stuart holds multiple patents in data mining, analytics and Business Intelligence.  He is actively engaged in helping guide and develop the next generation of IT leadership and serves as a career mentor both for Columbia University's Executive Master of Science in Technology Management program, as well as the CIO Executive Council Pathways program.
