Aspirations in Computing – 2023 Award Recipients

Our very own long-time board member Darwin Kovacs, alongside Tracey Cournoyer (VP, CIO of Travelers Bond and Specialty Insurance), presented honors and recognitions at the 2023 NCWIT Connecticut Aspirations in Computing Award to 120 high school students and 4 educators on May 22, 2023 at Travelers Claim University.

Amanda D'oleo
Great Path Academy
Amanda is a graduate of Great Path Academy and will attend the University of Connecticut with plans to major in Astronomy.  She achieved High Honors in each of her four years in high school and was the Salutatorian of the Class of 2023.  Amanda “… loves the STEM field and is very passionate about space and the stars.”

Rihana Foote
Sport and Medical Sciences Academy

Rihana is a graduate of Sport and Medical Sciences Academy and will attend the University of Connecticut to major in Chemical Engineering and Robotics. She achieved High Honors and is a member of the National Honor Society. She is interested in Robot Assisted Learning (RAL) to help children on the Autism Spectrum build communication, cognitive and behavioral skills.
