|SIM Privacy Statement|
SIM has created this privacy statement in order to demonstrate our firm commitment to privacy. The following discloses our information gathering and dissemination practices for SIM.
SIM gathers three types of information about users:
This website takes precaution to protect users' information. When users submit sensitive information via the website, their information is protected both online and offline. When our forms ask users to enter sensitive information (such as credit card number and/or Social Security number), the information is encrypted and is protected with sophisticated encryption software - SSL. SSL Encryption is a method by which information transmitted across the Internet is scrambled to the point where it's virtually indecipherable by anyone who should intercept the data before it reaches its destination. Web pages where SSL encryption is activated are typically identified by a lock or key symbol displayed somewhere in your browser. Refer to your browser's documentation for the specific symbol and location. While we use SSL encryption to protect sensitive information online, we also protect user information offline.
Information Provided to Third Parties
SIM may provide demographic and site usage information to trusted third parties such as site advertisers. Mailing addresses may be provided to certain third parties for one time usage via a bonded mail house, on a case by case basis. No email addresses or financial transaction data will be shared with third parties.
Links to Other Sites
This site contains links to other Web sites. Linked sites are not under the control of simnet.org and SIM is not responsible for the contents of any linked site or any link contained in a linked site. SIM is not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites or organizations. SIM provides links only as a convenience, and the inclusion of any link does not imply endorsement by SIM of the company, products, or services offered by that site or organization. If you feel that information found via a link from SIM is offensive or counter-productive to SIM's mission or values, please contact the webmaster with your concern. Include the full link and the page on the SIM site where the link is listed.
SIM makes discussion forums available to its users. Please remember that any information that is disclosed in these areas becomes public information. Participation in the discussion forums is contingent upon your agreement to the Code of Conduct for those areas.
