Academic Paper Competition Winners
  Congratulations to the SIM 2015 Academic Paper Competition Winners!

 

SIM would like to formally recognize the winners of the 2015 SIM Academic Paper Competition. The first place winners are Omar A. El Sawy, University of Southern California, Pernille Kræmmergaard, Aalborg University and IT University of Copenhagen, Denmark, Henrik Amsinck, CIO, Lego Group and Anders Lerbech Vinther, CIT Strategic Business Development, Lego Group, for their paper, " Building the Foundations and Enterprise Capabilities for Digital Leadership: The Lego Experience"  The papers were evaluated based upon five criteria: Innovativeness, Impact, Implementation, Re-applicability and Readability. The winning paper will be presented at SIMposium 2015 in November in Charlotte. 
 

Congratulations to the SIM 2014 Academic Paper Competition Winners! 

 

SIM would like to formally recognize the winners of the 2014 SIM Academic Paper Competition. The first place winners are Brian Janz, The University of Memphis, Tim Meek, CIO, Buckman, Ernest Nichols, The University of Memphis and John Oglesby, Director, Corporate Systems and IT Governance, Buckman, for their paper, "Re-Visioning IT for Value: The Value Stream Initiative at Buckman." The reviewer team consisted of three IT industry leaders and three academic professionals in the IT field. The papers were evaluated based upon five criteria: Innovativeness, Impact, Implementation, Re-applicability and Readability. The winning paper was presented at SIMposium 2014 in November in Denver.  Congratulations to the SIM 2013 Academic Paper Competition Winners!   

Congratulations to the winners of the 2013 SIM Paper Competition. The first place winners are Chetan Sankar, COB Advisory Council Professor of Information Systems, Auburn University and Bill Rushing, Vice President, R&D, Berntsen International, Inc., for their paper, "Critical Role of IT in Improving Disaster Management by Digitizing Utility Facility Objects.” 
 
The reviewer team consisted of three IT industry leaders and three academic professionals in the IT field.  The papers were evaluated based upon five criteria:  Innovativeness, Impact, Implementation, Re-applicability, and Readability. The Best Paper was presented at the 2013 SIMposium in November in Boston.

 Congratulations to the SIM 2012 Academic Paper Competition Winners!   
  
 
Congratulations to the winners of the 2012 SIM Paper Competition. The First Place Winner was a paper entitled, "Novartis' SMS for Life Project: How the CIO Can Create Innovative and Sustainable Social Value in Communities the Company Serves" by Dr. Donald Marchand, Professor of Strategy and Information Management, IMD (Lausanne, Switzerland) and Jim Barrington, Program Director, SMS for Life and former CIO, Novartis (Basel, Switzerland).

The Second Place Winner was a paper entitled, "Meeting the Challenges of Open Source Software: Case Study of Korean E-government Open Source Framework" by Thompson Teo, School of Computing, National University of Singapore and Sojung Lucia Kim, National Information Society Agency.

Congratulations to the 2012 SIM Paper Competition Award Winners. The competition reinforces the importance of research which impacts practice and research which provides valuable insights to inform leaders in information technology. The papers will be published in MIS Quarterly Executive which is available to all SIM members here on the SIM web site.
