Overview and History

RLF CompassThe DFW Chapter's RLF program has been bless with many outstanding leaders and full participation of the DFW membership and other SIM Chapters in the Region, especially the Houston Chapter.

Mike Rochelle and Mark Synder have led our RLF efforts for many years. Their passion for RLF has propelled them both to national leadership roles. Typical DFW RLF classes consist of approximately 20 individuals, who report directly to their CIOs in many medium and large-sized organizations.

Upon graduation, RLF members are granted a waiver of normal DFW Chapter membership eligibility requirements for a 2-year period. Thus, networking and continuing educational opportunities are provided as an added bonus for two more years

Under Mike Rochelle's leadership, recent RLF graduates have been recruited to assist with the DFW IT Educational Initiative Project (on this website). In particular they have created educational modules with Microsoft's World Wide Telescope Project for teachers and students in the 5th to 8th grades.

The full description of RLF program may be found on the SIMI website (Click here).
