Speak Freely. How to build a culture of candor.

The speed with which information flows, or stalls, within an organization has a direct impact on the quality of business decisions and ultimately the bottom line. Teams struggle to innovate, respond to changing stakeholder needs, or function efficiently unless people have access to relevant, timely, and valid information. It’s thus the leader’s job to create systems and norms that lead to a culture of candor. No matter how approachable you think you may be experience has shown that your employees maybe withholding valuable information. Research shows there are two key reasons that many team members are more likely to keep mum than to raise important questions or suggest new ideas: a fear of consequences and a sense of futility.

Participant benefits:

    • Identify the mistakes leaders make that cause employees to shut down rather than speak up.
    • Understand the business benefits when employees speak up
    • Identify the steps you can take to create a more vocal team and create a culture of candor
