Diversity Roundtable Breakfast
Diversity in the workplace is an important issue. Last week’s Kleiner Perkins workplace discrimination case resulted in uncomfortable discussions about whether company cultures exclude some of us from the best opportunities or positions. It’s understood that career advancement directly relates to the professional network that you cultivate.
Please join C.J. Venkataraman, Seattle SIM member and Chief Digital Officer at Vera Whole Health with Allison Guidette, Chief Executive Officer at G2 Web Services for a May 20th breakfast and networking roundtable at the Seattle Technology Leadership Summit, hosted by Seattle SIM.
We’ll discuss questions like these:
“How do I develop authentic leadership versus acting like the other guys?”
“What can I do to help other women and minorities grow into leaders?”
“What is involved to build effective networks within our companies?”
When: 7:00 AM – 8:20 AM on Wednesday, May 20th 2015
Where: Seattle Convention Center, Floor 6
800 Convention Place, Seattle WA 98101
Cost: No charge to qualified attendees
Seattle SIM is the go-to organization for technology executives, and this is our inaugural Women and Minorities’ networking event. As a breakfast roundtable guest, you are also invited to attend Seattle SIM’s full-day Seattle Technology Leadership Summit free of charge. With leading speakers and breakout panels, this event is designed for professional education and networking - more than 200 technology leaders are expected to attend. Details and registration: http://efmevents.com/2015/
Even if you are unable to join us, we have a request we hope you’ll consider acting on: Please forward this invitation to colleagues that you think could benefit from this networking and educational opportunity. cc: firstname.lastname@example.org on your correspondence so that we will honor this complimentary breakfast registration offer.
If you’re on Twitter, spread the word to your network. Your tweet might be: @Seattle_SIM. Tech Leadership organization will hold Diversity Breakfast for qualified attendees at upcoming event: http://bit.ly/1bQiBsy
Our differences don’t always work to our professional advantage, but developing a robust professional network is key to your professional success. We look forward to getting together with you for a lively conversation.
