In October, Seattle Business Magazine gave Ingvar Petursson a Lifetime Achievement Award for his contributions to the IT industry both locally and nationally. Join us for an interactive discussion as Ingvar gives his thoughts on trends in our profession. Those of you who have had heard Ingvar Petursson present know that he brings challenging thoughts and invites great audience interaction. This is a discussion that you should not miss.
Speaker: Ingvar Petursson
Ingvar Petursson has been Senior Vice President of Information Services at Nintendo Of America, Inc. since July 19, 2010. Mr. Petursson oversees all aspects of NOA's Information Services functions, including enterprise applications development, enterprise infrastructure and risk management. He is the Founder of AGORA, a professional organization dedicated to the evolving standards surrounding information security. He served as the Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer for Expedia, and also worked in lead IT roles at AT&T Wireless, Corbis and The Regence Group. Mr. Petursson served as the Senior Vice President of Technology and Planning of Corbis Corporation. He led the development of Corbis' market-leading media search and classification capabilities, enabling clients around the world to access Corbis imagery online. His work experience before that also encompassed areas outside of IT, including international project finance and propulsion engineering. He served as Chief Information Officer for AT&T Wireless where he spent 10 years building standards and capabilities for the wireless industry. He served as the Chief Technology Officer for The Regence Group. He has played a key role in defining industry standards to share and regulate usage of digital media. Mr. Petursson received his B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University and his M.B.A. from University of California at Los Angeles.
