The Society for Information Management (SIM) is a not-for-profit organization of information technology experts, including CIO's, CTO's and emerging IT leaders, as well as key professionals within the IT community, such as academicians and consultants.

SIM's mission is to support IT leaders in the greater St. Louis area by increasing the knowledge base of members, giving back to local communities, increasing awareness on issues of importance to our local community, developing the next generation of effective IT leaders and establishing a forum to bring together IT professionals across industries.

SIM St. Louis maintains a solid partnership with the academic community, incorporating IT educators as members, advisors, program participants, and contributors.

Delivering Business Value Through IT Leadership

Yearly, SIM St Louis provides $12,000 in the form of 6 scholarships to students seeking degrees in information technology fields. In 2015, SIM St Louis is also providing $35,000 funding for an endowment for additional scholarship funds at UMSL.

In addition to the scholarships, in 2015 SIM St Louis supported numerous local organizations with over $150,000 in charitable support.  Organizations supported include: IT Entrepreneur Network (ITEN), FIRST St Louis, Special Olympics, Hawthorne Leadership School for Girls, Web Innovation and Tech Services (WITS), Technology Entrepreneur Center (T-REX), Launch Code, Meacham Park Neighborhood Improvement Association (MNIA), Harry Campbell - Head for the Cure, Boys Scouts STEM - Twilight Cub Scout Camp, United Cerebral Palsy Heartland, and Boys and Girls Hope - St Louis.  With 2015 coming in at just over $208,000 in community giveback, the SIM St Louis Chapter expects to exceed $1,000,000 in total contributions to our communities in 2016.
