"I want to tell you my secret now. I see dead people."

IT Process Institute research shows that more than 70% of IT downtime is caused by unplanned, unauthorized or poorly managed changes to systems and applications. In other words, human error.

Scott will share about IT “dead people” (are there any “dead people” on your team?) and their work to actively sabotage process improvement. Scott will also tell us how building a culture of Configuration and Change Management is the fastest path to improvement in Information Technology.

Scott Van Den Elzen

Chief Technology Officer
IP Services
As CTO, Scott partners directly with executives from IP Services’ clients to align technology and business objectives. Once there is conceptual alignment, he works to ensure that technology is implemented and operated in ways that achieve the expected outcomes with measurable business value.

Scott believes in a “right way to do IT”. Through his work with the IT Process Institute, Scott is an IT process thought leader who is committed to achieving and maintaining operational excellence, and to “raising the tide that floats all boats” by sharing what he has learned in communities of both business and IT leaders.

Scott is also a founding member and Treasurer of the Eugene SIM chapter.
