We are delighted to have Dr. Badarinarayan talk on this topic:  There is expected to be a paradigm shift in the way we collect, manage and consume data over the next decade and beyond. This will affect everything from transportation industry to banking, infrastructure, cities, power and much more. We look at some megatrends in IoT that are impacting our society including autonomous mobility, smart manufacturing, smart cities etc.  Will discuss some aspects about society and smart cities leveraging big data analytics, challenges in autonomous/connected cars and what is Hitachi doing in some industries by utilizing our IoT platform through illustration of some use cases we have developed.

 

Dr. Harsha Badarinarayan is managing the North American Automotive R&D operations for Hitachi America, Ltd.  He’s been with Hitachi for over 14 years. In his current role, Dr. Badarinarayan is involved in strategic planning for automotive business expansion in the US, specifically related to 'Connected Cars' and ‘Autonomous Mobility’ initiatives, including IT X OT implementation with focus on developing automated driving technology and identifying potential Go-to-Market (GTM) solutions for automotive related IoT use cases. Dr. Badarinarayan holds 12 U.S. patents and has authored and/or co-authored over 30 technical publications. In addition, he is a contributing author for the technical handbook on Friction Stir Welding and Processing
