What?  Connecting IOT Devices to my IT Network?  No way!

It is predicted that there will be 50 billion devices and 1 trillion sensors on the planet by the year 2020.  These devices and sensors will be in the homes, office, buildings, industrial plants, malls/retail spaces, cities and roads, lighting, tunnels, airports, government installations, ships, and trains.  Which is really everywhere!  How will these Internet of Things (IoT) devices connect to the network and to the cloud?  How will they be powered?  Will they be secure? Should these devices connect to the existing IT network or do you need a separate network carrying IoT traffic?  Will the IT infrastructure have the capacity?  Will there be latency and other issues?

Well, the answer is, it depends on the situation.  The talk will cover a range of considerations and provide a comparative analysis of both the approaches, and discuss pros and cons and leave the audience with a set of criteria to start assessing their own choices.
