At the March 28 SIM Silver meeting (rescheduled from February), Mike Draper will share his story of achieving his dream of building an award winning sport airplane and flying it to the mecca of all airshows:  the annual EAA Air Venture convention at Oshkosh Wisconsin.    Mike’s story will cover a lot of the obstacles, challenges and setbacks he had to overcome to build a plane over a period of seven years, test fly it, and obtain FAA certification.   He will also share with his SIM colleagues some of his flying adventures including landing on the only FAA certified ice runway in the lower 48 states (Alton Bay, NH) and leading a flight of 11 planes down the Hudson River, at 1100 feet, from the George Washington Bridge to the Statue of Liberty.

Mike Draper is a Vice President and Cloud Adoption Practice Lead at Cloud Technology Partners.  Prior to Cloud Technology Partners, Mike was the CIO/COO of Network World, Inc. and past board member of Boston SIM.

This should be an interesting program as Mike describes what it is like to really get 'lift off' from a project and what it might be like to realize any oversights or miscues in executing your plan could be the difference between life and death.

Always come prepared to share what you are reading these days so if time allows we can discuss your great bookstore 'finds'.

Coming events:  May 10th, George Brenkcle, another SIM member, will share his story of hiking the Appalachian Mountain Trail.
