Seminar: CIO Success Stories: How Strategic CIOs Provide Transformation Leadership in the Digital Age
Our speaker, Phil Weinzimer, authored a book entitled, The Strategic CIO: Changing the Dynamics of the Business Enterprise, which is based on interviews with more than 150 CIOs, IT executives, and academic thought leaders, includingSIM Board Member, Steve Heilenman, and Anne Wilms, the former CIO of Rohm & Haas. In this seminar Mr. Weinzimer will discuss how strategic CIOs transform their IT organizations and collaborate with business teams to achieve significant business outcomes, increase customer value, improve margins, and enhance shareholder wealth using a four-phase methodology. He will site actual cases to illustrate CIO success stories.
Dinner Presentation: Learning from the Mistakes of Successful CIOs
We learn from our mistakes - as painful as that learning can be. Mistakes are a necessary byproduct of experimenting with new approaches required to anticipate and respond to changing business and industry trends.
Can we avoid some future mistakes by learning from others? Madeline Weiss will share mistakes and lessons learned by successful CIOs in such areas as IT organization transformation, leveraging digital technology to transform the business, and professional career advancement. Her career has positioned her well to observe and hear CIO stories as consultant and executive coach to CIOs, director of the SIM Advanced Practices Council for CIOs, and facilitator of the SIM Mid-Atlantic Regional Leadership Forum (where CIOs share their stories, warts and all).
