Waller is a co-author of the Gartner book ‘The CIO Edge: Seven Leadership Skills You Need to Drive Results’, Harvard Business Review Press, 2010. Most recently he has been conducting a major research project in digital leadership that will result in the next Gartner book – ‘Digital to the Core’ – that will be published in October 2015 and he will co-author along with Mark Raskino.
Additionally he is one of two leaders of the Gartner CIO survey, the largest annual survey of its type in the marketplace. As part of this responsibility he is a co-author of the Gartner 2014 CIO Agenda ’Taming the Digital Dragon’ and 2015 CIO Agenda ‘Flipping to Digital Leadership’. Waller also serves on the faculty of Gartner’s CIO Academy with a focus on leadership and strategy.
Waller has more than 20 years of experience in driving business results and achieving measurable value from IT-enabled transformation. He has held both IT and business leadership positions within end-user and IT service provider Fortune 100 companies, including in the major disciplines of strategy, governance, portfolio management, e-commerce and CRM.
