Taylor will talk about emerging expectations and trends in technology. Through the annual survey with Financial Executives International’s Committee for Finance & Information Technology (CFIT) and Gartner, Taylor will discuss the view point of the CFO while also providing a larger context of how technology is evolving and its related social implications


Taylor Hawes is the general manager for Global Finance & Services responsible for delivery of standardized global accounting operations, decision support systems, standard cost accounting, and the multi-year technology and operations roadmap supporting Microsoft’s growing businesses.

Taylor recently led the integration of Skype, an $8.5B acquisition, fully integrating 12 locations, 1,100 employees, sales and accounting systems, completed seven months after the close of the transaction.

Previously he was the CFO for the Intellectual Property & Licensing group. Beyond the normal functions of CFO, he developed a portfolio model to optimize a wide range of transactions in intellectual property. Over his tenure, Taylor was involved in numerous deals totaling over $2.0B. His involvement spanned negotiating sales of joint ventures, structuring complex multi-party transactions and supporting the related valuations.

In his role as Controller for Finance Operations, Taylor completed the OneFinance project, the largest global finance transformation project in the history of the Company. The scope of the project and ongoing operations covers 96 countries, 36 languages and 5 delivery centers. Finance operations manages over 800 resources in support of global processes, which include statutory financial accounting, tax compliance, internal control processes, accounts payable, procurement buy-desk, & payroll.
