SPEAKER: Daniel Blanchard, Vice President, Enterprise Operations, Marriott International, Inc.
In response to Marriott International’s change to a continent-based decision making structure, adjustments to computing services are needed. Three primary areas are being addressed: the network, data centers, and applications. Since these areas are tightly interrelated, a discussion about one must include the others.
Network and data center strategies will be the primary subjects for this discussion. Application strategy will be addressed sufficiently to provide necessary background information. As in all business environments, several competing demands impact the solution. These factors, along with the proposed solution, will be described.
