General Wesley Clark retired after 38 years in the United States Army. He graduated first in his class at West Point. He went on to attain degrees in Philosophy, Political Science and Economics from Oxford University as a Rhodes Scholar. In his last assignment with the Army he was appointed Supreme Allied Commander Europe where he led NATO forces to victory in "Operation Allied Force” saving 1.5 million Albanians from ethnic cleansing. His military awards include the Presidential Medal of Freedom, Defense Distinguished Service Medal, Bronze and Silver Stars, Purple Heart, Honorary Knighthoods from the British and Dutch Governments, Commander of Legion of Honor from France and numerous awards from other governments.

Currently General Clark is CEO of Clark Bova Group, LLC, a strategic consulting firm, Chairman of investment bank Rodman & Renshaw, Co-Chairman of Growth Energy, Senior Fellow at UCLA’s Berkley Center for International Relations, Director of International Crisis Group, and is a member of other corporate Boards of Directors and Advisory Groups. Additionally, General Clark authored three books.

His expertise in the area of data security has been nurtured by an understanding of the enormous political and economic impact that crime-ware and data breaches have on the stability and viability of businesses and governments, both domestic and international.

General Clarks address will be an informal preface to his presentation at the Northland In on Thursday February 17 "Cyber Security Protecting Against Crimeware” where he will:

I. Highlight the landscape and profile of the criminal elements around the world who view mayhem of stealing PII and financial data as nothing more than a financially rewarding enterprise.

II. Discuss the threat and impact of these criminal elements as it relates to the stability and economic viability of business, governments and national security.

III. Discuss new and evolving technologies to make networks invisible to these criminal entities and essential precautions that every organization should take to reduce risk and help meet compliance requirements within their organization.
