The City of Orlando has implemented many different applications and techniques to fight crime, some of these applications range from the use of database mining to the deployment of cameras in strategic locations to monitor and proactively respond to potential criminal activities. Using web 2.0 technology, interactive mapping and 21st Century communication tools amongst many others the Orlando Police Department has reduced crime in several categories and is moving the City towards being a safer city in which to live. Come hear from one of the main proponents of smart policing using technology, Chief Larry Zwieg, on some of the strategies used to keep Orlando safe.
