 Over the past few years, trends in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry are driving towards using Real World Evidence (RWE) and Outcomes Research to support improvements in R&D, targeted marketing, clinical trial patient recruiting, value-based contracts, formulary/reimbursement considerations, and more.  Join Ari Yacobi (Chief Data Scientist, Knowledgent) and David Wierz (Senior Principle, Knowledgent) as they discuss the evolution of RWE solutions, various use cases they enable, application of data science and machine learning, along with implementation approaches.

 

Ari Yacobi - Chief Data Scientist, Knowledgent

Ari Yacobi is the Chief Data Scientist and Real World Evidence Practice Lead at Knowledgent. Ari spends his time bringing data science to Real-World-Evidence and Outcomes Research and has successfully led RWE strategy and analytics engagements at large pharmaceutical and health insurance companies. Ari is a seasoned real-world data scientist that actively seeks to bring best practices and innovation to RWE engagements.   Previously, Ari was the Lead Data Scientist and CTO at a venture-funded startup, where he led the development of predictive marketing analytics offering. He also played a key role in forming a partnership with Google, building mobile capabilities, and driving business model innovation. Ari regularly speaks at industry events and occasionally teaches data science and analytics at General Assembly

 

David Wierz - Senior Principal, Knowledgent

David Wierz is a Senior Principal enabling solutions harnessing Real World Evidence at Knowledgent.  His work applies advanced analytics with large-scale, longitudinal data sets to define effects in practice for – patient behavior under differing benefit designs and costs of care; payment systems under Medicare and Medicaid; dissemination and use of new technologies as well as the clinical, commercial and economic effects of biopharmaceuticals, devices and diagnostics.  David previously integrated information, analytics and technology creating products and services with digital health, life sciences, payers and providers.  He set the go-to-market strategy and offerings for three care management platform companies as well as with Pfizer, MedImpact, IMS, Symphony Health and CHD Meridian.  David’s work enables integrating information from trials, claims, registries, EMR systems and patients to demonstrate value in practice.  His efforts include creating cooperative ventures with the ACC, AHA and AWS.
