Facilitators

This distinguished group of facilitators has more than 200 years of IT leadership, experience, knowledge and education to help ­tomorrow’s IT leaders understand and enhance their leadership style. From its inception, these leaders have helped develop, guide, and expand RLF and its highly regarded curriculum. In each region, one or more of the following contacts facilitate the sessions and guide the participant discussions.

Scot Berkey

Scot is an RLF graduate and currently serves as Vice President of Risk and Control for Career Education Corporation.  His responsibilities include managing the overall risk profile for the corporate Information Technology function including SOX and PCI compliance as well as the enterprise program of work for Identity and Access Management and ITIL implementations.  Scot has held senior level positions in the Insurance Brokerage, Software Vending, and Technology Consulting industries, and his past professional experience includes global operations and application development roles, client services and contract negotiation, and applied business technology. Scot is Vice President of Programs at the Chicago SIM Chapter, and he holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Northwestern University, and an MBA in Finance and Entrepreneurship from the University of Chicago.

Bart Bolton

With more than 30 years experience in IT management, Bart’s ­experience includes leading and managing multiple IT departments, consulting, educating, marketing and selling to the IT function. He currently works with IT organizations to help them become more effective, including their leadership capabilities. He spent 17 years at Digital Equipment Corporation as a Manager of Consulting Services, MIS Marketing Manager and Manager of Field Information Systems. Prior to Digital, Bart was a Corporate Director of IS for an automotive parts manufacturer, a senior consultant with Touche Ross and a marketing representative for IBM. He is the trustee and past chairman of SIM’s Boston Chapter.

Mike is CIO for the U.S. General Services Administration and a ­graduate of the first Mid-Atlantic RLF. His responsibilities include ­enterprise infrastructure operations, information technology capital planning and investment control, architecture, and security. Mike is a member of the Federal Government’s Senior Executive Service and a graduate of the National Defense University Information Resources Management College. He received a B.S. from Boston University, a M.P.A. from Northeastern University, and a M.S. in Information Resources Management from Syracuse University.

Bill Harrison

Bill has over 35 years of academic and executive management experience. Currently, he works on the development and delivery of leadership development programs. He has been an active member of SIM for more than 30 years, a founding member and officer of both the Seattle and Portland Chapters of SIM, and a member of the SIM Executive Board. Bill has been facilitator of the Northwest RLF since 1995 and the Leadership Development Roundtable for RLF alumni since 1998.

Cliff Higbee

Cliff Higbee is the Director of the Management Information Center for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He received his B.A. in Speech Communications from the University of Utah. He is a past Intermountain Chapter president, has served on the SIM Executive Board in several Vice President positions, and chaired the 1994 Annual Interchange Conference. Cliff has been a guest lecturer at Weber State University and The Salt Lake Community College. He holds an elected position on the Salt Lake City School Board and serves on the Advisory Boards for Weber State University and Utah Valley Community College.

Darwin A. John

Darwin John is the former Chief Information Officer of the FBI and a member of the science and technology advisory board to the FBI. He received his B.S. and M.B.A. degrees from Utah State University and has been a guest lecturer at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, University of Minnesota, Brigham Young University, the Stanford Graduate School of Business and others. In 1983, Darwin served as President of SIM, and he has served as Vice President of the Leadership Development Institute, Intermountain Chapter President and was the 1979 Annual Conference Chairperson. Darwin was also a corporate officer and CIO of Scott Paper Co.

Steven John

 

Currently Steven is the Global IT Director of H. B. Fuller, a specialty chemical manufacturer. The company spans 31 countries, and its adhesive, sealant, paint and other specialty chemical products reach customers in nearly 100 nations.

Prior to H. B. Fuller, Steven was the Chief Information Officer at Agriliance, the largest supplier of crop nutrients, and crop protection products.  He also held positions with the Society for Information Management, First Health, CIGNA, Unisource Network Services, and Transora, Inc.

In 2006 he was selected by Computerworld magazine as one of the Premier 100 IT Leaders.

He was recently presented with the 2008 Leadership award by the CIO Executive Council.

Steven holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from the University of Utah, and completed graduate work at Temple University.

John Parady

John Parady is the Chief Technology Officer for Kelly Blue Book in Irvine, California. He assumed this role in August 2000 and is ­responsible for the strategic selection and application of computing and telecommunications technology throughout the corporation. Parady received his Bachelors Degree from California State University of Los Angeles and a Masters of Science Degree from the University of Southern California

Michael Rochelle

Mike is a results oriented sales and marketing leader with demonstrated ability to meet or exceed business goals. He has 17 years of increasing sales, marketing and IT operations, business process renewal and full client lifecycle experience. For six years, he led the IT function as VP, Business Systems for the Client Services Division of CB Richard Ellis, the largest international real estate services provider. While with CBRE, he coordinated the IT and telecom infrastructure integration for two mergers, including the international operations of Richard Ellis.

From there, Mike moved into management consulting and led the south central sales and marketing automation proficiency for eLoyalty and the firm he co-founded, CRM Associates. For several years, Mike was Director of Marketing for a division of CBIZ, a top-ten national accounting firm. Mike is currently with Microsoft as storage products partner account manager for Dell, HP, Fujitsu, Spectralogic and others.

Mike received a B.A. from Ambassador University and an M.B.A. from Azusa Pacific University. He is a graduate of The Society for Information Management's Regional Leadership Forum, has facilitated the RLF for 11 years, and has served as VP of Education for the Dallas SIM Chapter. Mike currently serves on the board of the Highland Village Parks Foundation and is Cub Master for Pack 1163 in Highland Village, TX.

Mike is also an active outdoorsman, mountain biker and soccer dad. Mike resides in Highland Village, TX, north of Dallas/Fort Worth, with his wife, Arlene and sons, Michael Alexander and Paul Anthony and daughter Erika Marie.

Bob Rouse

Bob is a professor of Computer Science and IT Planning Officer for the School of Medicine at Washington University. He has 25 years of experience in research and application of education and ­organizational problems. His primary experiences are in the ­application of knowledge representation and knowledge-based strategies to complex problems in business and engineering. Bob has held IT management positions, led regional corporate education programs, and is a founder of the St. Louis Chapter and past SIM president.

Kevin Ryan

Kevin is president of NogginTops.com an internet provider of high quality hats and outdoor gear. He is a graduate of the RLF class of 2000, has held a number of board positions with SIM’s Central Connecticut Chapter, and was the Co-Chairman of SIMposium 2005. Prior to his current role, Kevin held executive positions in IT with major healthcare companies in project delivery and infrastructure management.

Mark Snyder

Mark is an RLF graduate, a member of the Board of Directors of the Dallas/Fort Worth chapter of SIM, and has been one of the facilitators of the Southwest RLF since 2003. He is currently a Service Delivery Manager for the Texas Branch of Keane, Inc. Mark has more than 30 years of experience in leadership positions in technology and industry, focused on strategy definition, information technology, business transformation and the development of high performance teams. He is a Registered Professional Engineer and holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in Industrial Engineering from the University of Texas – Arlington.

Madeline is President of Weiss Associates, Inc., a consulting firm ­specializing in strategy and change, particularly related to ­information management and technology. Utilizing her experience of over 30 years in management, organization strategy and change, and information technology, she consults for business, government, universities, and professional organizations. She is Program Director of SIM's Advanced Practices Council and has been an officer of SIM.

Philip R. Zwieg

Phil is currently a principal with Z-Sharp, LLC. a consulting business that focuses on offshoring, IT strategy, IT measurement and IT organization. He recently retired as a Vice President in the Information Systems department at Northwestern Mutual, where he was responsible for all infrastructure and IT operations activities. Prior to joining the Northwestern, he was head of the Information Systems organization at We Energies. He received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and his MBA from Marquette University. He is on the adjunct faculty of the graduate business school at Marquette University. Phil is a member of the Board of Directors of Lad Lake, Inc. and has been a member of the Society for Information Management and the Wisconsin Chapter for over 20 years, serving in board roles at both the national and local level.
