Be Heard through SIM’s Issues Advocacy

Joining forces with SIM’s Issues Advocacy ensures that your voice will be heard. Think of the old adage, “If a tree falls deep in the forest, but no one is there to hear it, did it make a noise?”.

Imagine if the whole forest of trees fell at once. That would surely catch someone’s attention, wouldn’t it?

Through SIM, instead of falling as one lonely tree deep in the forest, you are part of a collective noise that will be heard. SIM’s Issues Advocacy volunteers represent the collective voice of IT leaders on such vital issues as civil defense, cyber security and software licensing. They are dedicated to heightening awareness of current IT issues and working to influence legislature(s) and policies.

SIM Position Statement:

If you are interested in pursuing an issue through SIM's Advocacy program, please contact SIM's Sr. Program Manager, Ruth Nelson.

Get a unique professional edge through SIM’s Communities of Interest

By aligning IT leaders with similar industry or geographical interests, Communities of Interest facilitate the kind of collaboration and candid exchange of knowledge that will allow you to increase your knowledge capital on a specific topic of interest.

Members of SIM’s Communities of Interest collaborate on the production of deliverables such as best practices and frameworks to implement in their organizations. After completion, these deliverables are made available to all SIM members. What a great opportunity to work "virtually" side-by-side with peers sharing and solving complex issues.
