Programs

SIM New York Metro offers an exciting and informative program for its membership:

Monthly meetings are planned from September to June. Most meetings are scheduled over lunch and typically feature a presentation by a leading IT Professional or a panel discussion. In addition, each meeting provides an informal opportunity for networking with peers. At least two meetings a year are organized as dinner meetings to provide additional time for networking and for sharing of experiences and best practices. Monthly meetings are open to all members and invited guests.

To provide CIOs and IT Leaders with a forum to discuss a specific topic of common interest in a more in-depth manner, additional events such as CIO Forums, Breakfast meetings, or Roundtable discussions will be organized from time to time. The first CIO Forum hosted by SIM NY Metro took place in October 2002. Please check the Program Schedule for upcoming events.

In addition, SIM New York members are entitled to participate in the following programs and events which are offered in collaboration with SIM International:

  • The Annual SIMposium is SIM's premier event for Senior IT Executives. The three-day event brings together 400 to 500 IT Leaders from across the country and offers participants an opportunity to hear the thought leaders of Industry and Academia address the foremost issues confronting IT leaders today.
  • The Regional Learning Forum (RLF) is designed to develop future IT leaders through an intensive series of workshops.
  • The Advanced Practices Council (APC) sponsors leading-edge research.
  • MIS Quarterly Executive is a journal dedicated to publishing high-quality research in the field of IT. Affiliated with the highly respected MIS Quarterly, it publishes articles, case studies, and research reports based on in-depth research that provides rich stories, unique insights, and useful conceptual frameworks. MISQ Executive is published in affiliation with SIM, and as a benefit of your SIM membership, you will receive free access to each quarterly issue.
