Peter Whatnell joined Sunoco, as CIO, in November 2001, to develop and lead the company’s IT renewal strategy. Prior to that he spent 17 years with Texaco including Head of IT Europe in London, moving to the USA in 1995, serving in several Corporate Director positions covering IS, Telecommunications, Advanced Technology Services, ERP, the IT member on Texaco’s global technology policy and strategy team, and General Manager IT in the shared services company for Texaco, Shell and Saudi Refining Inc.
Peter is on the advisory councils for the IT programs at Villanova and LaSalle Universities, the Philadelphia Chapter of Black Data Processing Associates, a board member with Opera Company of Philadelphia and is the Immediate Past President of SIM Philadelphia. In 2007 Peter served as VP for Finance.
