Mike has recently been named as the CIO for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Prior to HHS, Mike was the CIO for the U.S. General Services Administration and a ­graduate of the first Mid-Atlantic RLF. His responsibilities include ­enterprise infrastructure operations, information technology capital planning and investment control, enterprise architecture, and IT security. Mike is a member of the Federal Government’s Senior Executive Service and a graduate of the National Defense University Information Resources Management College. He received a B.S. from Boston University, a M.P.A. from Northeastern University, and a M.S. in Information Resources Management from Syracuse University. Mike is a former officer of the Capital Area Chapter and a current member of the Advanced Practices Council. He has served on the SIM Paper Award Committee for the past several years and the SIM Nominating committee in 2000. He served as VP for Member Products and Services in 2007. For the past decade he has engaged in the labor of love known as SIM RLF Facilitator. In 2006, he was again passed over for the U.S. World Cup national soccer team.
