Jerry is the Associate Dean of Graduate Information Systems Programs, and Distinguished Professor of Information Systems, at Stevens Institute of Technology. His career includes strategic positions in management, management consulting, information systems, and education. After a 22-year career with IBM, and more than ten years at Stevens, Luftman's experience combines the strengths of practitioner (including a CIO), consultant, and academic. His framework for applying the strategic alignment model and assessing alignment maturity is key in helping companies around the world understand, define, and scope an appropriate strategic planning direction that leverages information technology. His most recent book “Competing in the Information Age: Align in the Sand”, published by Oxford University Press, is one of ten published. He recently completed three terms as VP for Chapter Relations. This will be his third term as VP for Academic Community Affairs.
