Community met on April 20th to discuss the intent of the Community of Interest for Financial Services. Each member introduced their role, company business, along with their current I.T. challenges in order to help to get the conversations going. This summary will focus on the highlights of the meeting.
- Community agreed that future meetings would focus on 1-2 topics at a time, which would be communicated in advance to all those interested in participating in this community. A specific team member would be assigned responsibility for preparing some artifacts/slides to help facilitate the specific discussion – the artifacts are just a means to help guide and generate the discussion
- It was agreed that the community should focus on issues of commonality and where topic is cross industry, the facilitator will attempt to provide a Financial Sector perspective to the topic. An agreed list of topics with assigned facilitators is provided here and this can always be adjusted or added to in the future. We agreed to provide a short description of each topic also over the next two weeks.

- Community agreed to target monthly meetings, usually to occur the week after the monthly FWSIM meeting. A conference call number and Webex would be provided by the company hosting the meeting. Facilities for an in-person meeting for those that can attend in-person would also be provided wherever possible to further help networking.
- Community agreed to market itself on the FWSIM website by May 1st and provide related artifacts as possible to it as they become available.
- It was agreed that we would structure an email to invite other members of SIM that are employed in the Financial Services sector, some suggested names to follow-up with are ;
Members agreed that there was benefit to this community and looked forward to future meetings.
